Alpha Bravo Charlie is a war drama which was released in the year 1995 and it was directed by John Frankenheimer. Alpha Bravo Charlie begins with a group of US soldiers called Alpha Company who are stationed in an old abandoned WWII bunker. The company has been there for quite some time, preparing to launch attacks on Iran when word comes that the United States will not be going to war. After days of patrols and sharpening their combat skills, they're ready for one final test: a full-scale invasion of neighboring country's borders in order to protect its interests there. Unfortunately, just as they're about to launch into battle, charlie company puts out an alert that an armed man is roaming around in the woods nearby. They send out a helicopter and find that the man is actually a reporter who is reporting on the war games they're about to carry out. He's brought film crew with him and interviews one of the highest ranking officers there. But as he begins to interview the officer, an enemy shell lands close by and they all duck for cover. However, they discover that the shell was actually fired from American soil, not Iran's territory. They report this to their superiors immediately who are rushing troops in to contain all of Alpha Company before they can launch their attack on Iran. To their surprise, Alpha Company carries out their attack anyway... under command of another higher-ranking officer who turns out to be a traitor... and who they discover is actually a Russian spy. Their mission accomplished, Alpha Company begins its return. One of the soldiers gets lost in a cornfield and ends up being taken hostage by an enemy officer from a village nearby. The company then finds out that the entire thing was a trap set up by Iran and that they've been sold out. They know that once the attack had been carried out, their government would have assumed that their homeland was being invaded and would retaliate with nuclear weapons. They had to get Alpha Company back before it was too late... but they couldn't because all of Alpha Company had been captured one by one... except for one soldier who managed to escape capture and got back to base camp on his own. He informs his superiors of what happened and that Alpha Company was taken hostage by Iran. His superiors then send the National Guard into battle to extricate Alpha Company soldiers before it's too late. The National Guard attacks the village where the American soldiers are being held, but they're swarmed by tanks who ambush them from both sides of the runway. The soldier from Charlie Company then realizes that he's the only one who can save his men now and goes head first into a firefight to rescue them. Along with his new friend, a mercenary working for Iran, he then manages to rescue most of Alpha Company and they all escape before more American troops can be sent in... Erin Gray: Col.
