The movie Baby Mama is about a woman who became pregnant after engaging in an affair with her friend's husband. Despite the circumstances, she decides to keep the baby and raise it herself. Through her experience of raising her child alone, she learns that motherhood and reconciliation are not mutually exclusive and explores different parenting methods over time. The film depicts an honest portrayal of how one can overcome rejection and become a loving parent despite their initial failure at love. It has been screened for audiences across the globe, making it one of DirecTV's most watched films of all time. This is what makes the plot so compelling to watch unfold over time while being captivated by its unique plot twists throughout each scene in its entirety. The leading role of Kate is played by Emmy-nominated actress Toni Collette, who also starred in the critically acclaimed hit film "Little Miss Sunshine". The female lead successfully plays her character as deeply troubled but strong with the aid of her supporting cast. The main character, Kate, falls in love with Andy (Steve Martin), who is married to Sarah (Amanda Peet). The two decide to be together after one night spent together. On that night, they share an intimate connection that sparks an affair between them. Once the two decide to be together, they admit their feelings for each other and decide that Andy will divorce his wife and give up his family for Kate. Kate, however, does not want to be with an already married man for she knows that her happiness will always be in jeopardy with Sarah's arrival. Kate wants to have a clean slate for the sake of her unborn child. Kate's estranged father, Ray (Ted Danson), is invited by Andy to meet his family. Ray expects that he will be able to finally be reunited with his daughter whom he has not seen in years. However, Ray does not realize the deceitful nature of the matter until it's too late after having met Andy's family, which includes his son Jake (David Walton) who is nearly grown now. Ray spends much time trying to prove himself as a parental figure but fails. He eventually leaves Kate's apartment after she tells him to leave her alone. As Kate struggles with family matters of her own,she begins to reflect on her life and how it has changed. She starts a band with a group of friends and uses their song as a metaphor for what happened with her and Andy, as well as with Jake and Amy (Malin Akerman). At the end of the movie, she meets an older woman named Abby (Judy Greer) who seems to be everything she is not. The story depicts how one can truly go from having no one but yourself to depend on in order make your way through the world to someone who now has a great amount love from those around them. Kate is a young woman who does not let life get in the way of her dreams. She is a successful artist who has been working on her paintings for years and has been living with a man named Tony who helps support her while she works on her art. Her mother, Maggie (Margo Martindale), was a loving and supportive mother while raising Kate but died during a surgery while recovering from cancer. Kate's father, Ray, is also deceased, but his memories live on through Kate's paintings of him. He left his daughter when she was young and they were both brokenhearted. cfa1e77820
